EMERGENCY CLOSURE INFORMATION

Emergency notifications and other school related matters will be automatically sent by telephone and email via Blackboard Connect, our emergency notification system. For questions regarding Blackboard Connect, please contact the main office of your child’s school.  This information will also be posted on the district website.

Delayed openings or the closing of schools due to inclement weather or other emergencies will also be broadcast over local TV stations: WABCTV (Channel 7), FOX 5 TV (Channel 5); and cable stations: NEWS 12 Westchester, Tuckahoe School Cable Access Channel 77.  Additionally, the information will be broadcast over radio stations WOR (710 AM) and WFAS (1230 AM, 103.9 FM), starting at 6 a.m. or as soon as the decision is made.

When schools are closed in Tuckahoe, district students will not be transported to private, parochial, or BOCES schools. However, in the event of delayed openings, all district buses will start their pick-ups according to the revised schedule. Transportation will be provided in the case of emergency dismissal for any reason. Students will be dismissed in a manner that ensures their safe arrival at home. It is essential that parents provide the district with the name and telephone number of a person who will receive the student in the event the parent is not at home.

Please note: if there is a one or two hour delay, the morning TASC program will be cancelled. If there is an early dismissal or if after school activities are cancelled, the TASC afternoon program will be cancelled.

To change your contact information in our notification system, please complete the Blackboard Connect Data Sheet and return it to the main office at your child's school.
